Pocono Attractions
- Air Tours -
There are a few airports and locations offering balloon rides.
- Amusement Parks
- Amusement Parks are not the major attraction for the area. However, you can
find a few larger parks and several smaller family type locations.
- Fall Foliage - Enjoy one
of nature's most spectacular shows. Fall Foliage occurs mostly during the
first three weeks of October.
- Fishing-
With a multitude of clear mountain streams and lakes, the Pocono Mountains are
a great place for fishing. Many resorts offer stocked ponds. Some are catch
and release and others offer 'pay per catch'
- Golf -
If you are a golfer, there are several golf resorts and clubs in the area.

Horseback Riding
- There aren't as many stables as you would expect. However horseback riding
is a great way to see the countryside.

Music and Theater
- Yes, the Poconos has culture. You can find local dinner type theaters and
also some shows at the resorts.

Museums
- There are museums documenting the Native Americans, coal mining and country
life.

Outlets/Stores
- The Pocono region offers several clusters of outlets and discount stores.
While shopping might not be your first choice of activities, it can fill in
during a rainy day.

Paintball - Run
around through a field or themed obstacle course shooting your enemies with
multi colored balls of paint.

Parks - The Poconos abound
with dozens of parks offering a wide variety of activities including boating,
skiing, fishing and more.

Racing - The area has
had several racetracks for decades.
- Skiing, Snowboarding
- During the winter months the resorts and ski areas offer a variety of
winter activities. If you want a calmer venue, try one of the smaller resorts
with it's own ski slope such as Skytop.

Spas - The Poconos are going
upscale. You can find spas at almost all of the resorts and you can find
smaller spas in the area.
- Trains - Several lines offer tours
on steam and vintage diesel trains. An afternoon excursion is a great way to
enjoy the Fall Foliage.
- Vineyards
- The landscape and geography of the area doesn't lend itself to a lot of
vineyards but diehard wine fans will find a few places.
- Water Sports - During the summer
months, the amusement parks offer water activities such as waterslides
and themed pools. You can also find places to waterski, go whitewater rafting,
canoeing and more.
